Wrap Up January\Hello, February!

Greetings, all!

(Guys, I’m actually on time with my wrap-up post. Something must be wrong with me.)

It seems like January just started!!! And now it’s February!!! Where does time go? Can you believe it’s already one month into 2018? I can’t. I’m still in 2017. Probably by the time it’s almost 2019 my mind will be caught up.

January’s Songs:

Mad World covered by Peter Hollens
So beautiful, and so sad.

Wonder Woman’s Wrath by Rupert Gregson-Williams

This song is amazing. I haven’t seen the movie, but I LOVE the soundtrack.

Barbossa is Hungry by Hans Zimmer

Mildly disturbing title, but awesome song. I love the rhythm.

January’s Movies:

(We watched a ton of movies this month because I had to babysit my siblings more than usual. Not that I’m complaining…)

[Disclaimer: I am not recommending all of these movies; I watched some of them on a video filtering service as there was some content involved. Just F.Y.I]

Spider-Man Homecoming – Loved this movie. Peter Parker is awesome, and the plot was really good.

Inkheart – This is a great movie for any writers, readers, and book lovers…because in it the characters of different books come alive. How cool is that?

LEGO Ninjago Movie – Not as good as the LEGO Movie, but still great.

Batman Begins – LOVED THIS. BATMAN IS AWESOME. AND YOU GET TO SEE LIAM NEESON IS A NINJA.

Rise of the Guardians – This is a sweet movie.

LotR: RotK - <3 <3 <3 Need I say more?

The LEGO Movie – EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

January’s Books:

(I unfortunately didn’t read as much as I would have liked to this month, as we didn’t go to the library at all.)

Tales of Redwall: Doomwhyte by Brian Jacques

Saint by Ted Dekker (still reading)

LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring (still reading)

January’s Events:

(To read about some more exciting things that happened this month, check out this post from last week.)

New Belt in Kung Fu: My brother and I earned our yellow\black stripe belt in Kung Fu last Monday. The belt tests just keep getting harder…

Wish I felt this good after doing only three jumping jacks…

January’s Writing:

(This is a new section of my wrap-up posts. I’m hoping to have something new written every month.)

I wrote about 816 words this month. Not exactly the WC I was hoping for, but at least it’s something. I’m continuing my blog serial story, Mission: Metal; as well as writing a screen-play for a movie that my dad and I are hopefully going to make this year. Starting next week, I will be writing my new WIP, Of Silver, Shipmates, and Strange Tides, that I introduced in last week's post.

Okay, now that that’s over with, tell me; how was your month? Did you watch any good movies or read any good books? How is your writing going? Do you like The LEGO Movie or The LEGO Ninjago Movie better? And does anyone else think that time goes by too quickly?

Namarie!

  1. Ha ha, yes, Emmet! :) I love The Lego Movie so much! The Lego Batman one was funny and I liked it (not as much as the first movie though), and we just watched Ninjago. There were funny moments, but I didn't feel like it did the other Lego movies justice. Once Emmet and his gang were gone it just wasn't the same...:(

Have you seen any movies by the animation company Aardman? Flushed Away is a good one, as well as Chicken Run and their Shaun the Sheep/Wallace and Gromit short films. (I can't recommend everything they've done though, they had some weird, less family-friendly things too.) I get the feeling you might like them. :P

Hey, 816 words is good progress! I don't keep track of words, since I handwrite all my first drafts, but I did finish the VERY FIRST draft (as in it'll be ten years of editing before it's readable by people other than myself) of my latest work, so now I'm trying to think of something new...for some reason all the college homework is slowing down my writing...;)

    Happy February! :D

    1. I loved The LEGO Movie too!!! Yeah, it really didn't do them justice. :-(
Actually, I have seen Chicken Run; but not any of the others you mentioned. I will have to look them up, thanks! XD
Thank you!!! That is so awesome, congrats on finishing the first draft!!! XD XD XD
Happy February to you as well!!! :-)

    2. Oh yes! Flushed Away is quite good! :D (Plus the bad guy is voiced by Ian McKellan and his sidekick is voiced by Andy Serkis, so...how much better can you get?)

  7. "Barbossa Is Hungry" is a great piece of music, despite the grotesque title (there is but one step from the grotesque to the horrible) ;)
Ooh, Inkheart sounds like a cool movie! I watched The hobbit movies this passed onthy, and now we're in the midst of The fellowship of the Ring (Moria, to be exact).
I have never read the Redwall book. Did you enjoy it?

    1. It definitely is!!! (Yes, there is. ;-D)
I think you would really like it, but I know there was some language and inappropriate lines in it so we watched it on VidAngel. My mom said it would have been fine for me to watch off of VidAngel though; so maybe they're not too bad. :-D Plugged In Movie Reviews probably has a review on it if you want to look it up. XD
That's awesome!!! LotR and the Hobbit are the best. <3 XD
I did! It's not my absolute favorite Redwall book, but it's one of my brother's favorites. :-D
